Blogs That Helped Me
In my journey to start my clothing business I read several blogs to help me with along the way. This is still a learning process but these are a few that I would suggest to anyone starting or thinking of starting a clothing business. First I needed the recipe of how to get started www.themisle.com showed me the basics, such as finding my niche, what software I should use, and how to create a blog and market my business and blog on social media. Not to say I'm a slacker but I was in search of a one stop shop app that I could use to put everything I had learned to work. That's when I ran across a Shopify blog at www.shopify.com it tells you how to do everything from running ads on social media to starting a blog and setting up a website. This is what I currently use to run my business. There were some down sides when I first tried to run a Facebook ad it locked me out of my page that I've had for 13 years, talk about a heart break! My next step was finding tends reading www.superdry.com/blog helped me keep up with the fashion trends in the street this blog is geared toward the urban and street culture which is my target market. To learn what mistakes to avoid, I would visit www.apparelentrepeneurship.com this site has several blogs every beginner in this industry needs to learn. Lastly and maybe one of the most important ideas I got was from www.guerreism.com this blog shows fashion in the real world, people taking picture of themselves or professional models in some of the worlds latest fashion trends. This is so important social media and high tech camera phones with filters at the swipe of a finger, has made everyone a model. People love to show off their new clothes and shoes, or outfits on social media. This is free advertisement I find images of customers in my clothes and save them for my website, often I encourage them to send me pictures and the top 5 of each month are featured on my site.
